TEC at the NextGen CleanTech Workforce Summit
This week, TEC was honored to participate in the NextGen CleanTech Workforce Summit, hosted by Henry Street Settlement as part of Climate Week NYC — a forum that brought together leaders, employers, and innovators to discuss how we can shape the clean energy workforce for the future.
Our COO, Colin Gumbs, joined the panel discussion “Centering Employers’ Needs: Mapping Skills to Clean Energy Careers,” which took place on Wednesday, September 24 from 1:00–2:00 PM at the Abrons Arts Center.
Colin shared TEC’s perspective on how career shifts, nontraditional hiring, and talent retention play crucial roles in building a strong, adaptable workforce, which is essential to our vision to be the driving force in building technology.
Our participation reflected TEC’s core values:
- Excellence in cultivating top talent and delivering meaningful impact.
- Respect for every background and career path that contributes to clean energy.
- Accountability in addressing workforce challenges head-on.
- Integrity in building trust within our teams and across the industry.
- Innovation & Learning as a measure of progress, ensuring tomorrow’s workforce is stronger than today’s.
We believe that building sustainable systems requires building a sustainable workforce. That’s why events like the NextGen CleanTech Workforce Summit are so important — they bring employers, educators, and innovators together to reimagine the future of clean energy careers.
