TEC Welcomes Matt LaPorte as Vice President of Construction Business Development

TEC Systems is pleased to announce that Matt LaPorte will be joining the team on Monday, February 9, as Vice President of Construction Business Development.

In this role, Matt will lead TEC’s sales organization, focusing on strengthening client relationships and ensuring the delivery of innovative, reliable solutions in building automation. Reporting to CEO John Arfman and serving on the Senior Leadership Team, Matt will help drive TEC’s growth while maintaining the high level of service and expertise clients have come to expect.

Matt brings over 20 years of experience in facilities services, building automation, and construction-focused business development. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Business Development at T.M. Bier & Associates, where he led major commercial projects, expanded long-term client partnerships, and delivered measurable results. He has also held leadership roles at Schneider Electric, Control Technologies, and Integrated Building Controls, building deep expertise in account management, technical solutions, and client engagement.

Throughout his career, Matt has built high-performing teams and delivered multimillion-dollar results, always with a focus on understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions. His hands-on experience in Building Automation Systems ensures a strong understanding of both technical and operational perspectives, allowing TEC to better support clients across every stage of a project.
