Located in the heart of Brooklyn, SUNY Downstate is the only medical center to offer patient care, education, and research since 1860. To assist SUNY in accommodating for their growing capacity over the last decade, and maximizing facility efficiency, TEC answered with a new Building Management System (BMS). In addition to a retrofit installation of cooling towers, absorption chillers, and HVAC related units, TEC was tasked with switching out old equipment without affecting day-to-day operations of operating rooms, isolation rooms and other critical accommodations. The facility was outfitted with an Ion based Honeywell System, and TEC is also providing in-house training to hospital engineers to ensure their building runs to their most optimal standards. Continuous partnership and newly installed touch screen displays throughout mechanical room further the convenience and assurance in TEC’s services.
